1. Simple Present
(+) S + V1 (+es/s)

Contoh:
(+)Liza Goes to Transmart Carefour at 1 p.m
(-)Liza doesn’t go to Transmart Carefour in
the afternoon

Fungsi:
– Untuk menunjukkan kebenaran mutlak. seperti contoh nomor 1.
– Untuk menunjukkan pekerjaan rutin. e.g: I go to school everyday
2. Present Continuous.
(+) S + am/is/are + Ving
(-) S + am/is/are + not + Ving
(?) Am/is/are + S + Ving?
Contoh:
(+)He
is reading a newspaper
(-)He
is not reading a newspaper
(?)Is
he reading a newspaper?
Fungsi:
– Menunjukkan pekerjaan yang sedang berlangsung
– Menunjukkan Pekerjaan yang pasti dilakukan di masa yang akan datang (contoh
nomor 1)
3. Present Perfect
(+) S + have/has + V3
(-) S + have/has + not + V3
(?) Have/has + S + V3?
Contoh:
(+)He has forgotten her bag
(-)He has not forgotten her
bag
(?) Has he forgotten her
bag?
Fungsi:
– Menunjukkan pekerjaan yang telah usai pada saat sekarang.
4. Present Perfect Continuous
(+) S + have/has + been + Ving
(-) S + have/has + not + been + Ving
(?) Have/has + S + been + Ving
Contoh :
(+)Liza has been waiting in
this line for 1 hours in order to buy Korean food
(-)Liza has not been waiting in
this line for 1 hours in order to buy Korean Food
(?)Has she been waiting in this
line for 1 hours in order to buy Korean food?
Fungsi:
– Untuk menunjukkan pekerjaan yang sudah terjadi dan masih ada kemungkinan
terjadi sampai nanti.
5. Simple Past.
(+) S + V2 + O
(-) S + did + not + Inf (V1)
(?) Did + S + Inf (V1)
Contoh:
(+)Arif got certificate from
the seminar last week
(-)Arif did not get certificate
from the seminar last week
(?)Did Arif get certificate
from the seminar last week?
Fungsi:
Menunjukkan pekerjaan yang terjadi pada masa lampau, tanpa ingin menekankan
bahwa ia sedang, atau telah selesai melakukan pekerjaan tsb.
6. Past Continuous.
(+) S + was/were + Ving
(-) S + was/were + not + Ving
(?) Was/were + S + Ving
Contoh :
(+) Liza was cooking a
fried rice when her mother called her
(-) Liza was not cooking a
fried rice when her mother called her
(?)Was Liza cooking a fried
rice when her mother called her?
Fungsi:
Untuk menunjukkan pekerjaan yang sedang terjadi pada masa lampau, ketika pekerjaan
lain terjadi, baik pekerjaan lain itu menyela (seperti contoh nomor1) atau
terjadi bersama-sama (seperti contoh nomor 2).
7. Past Perfect.
(+) S + Had + V3
(-) S + Had + not + V3
(?) Had + S + V3
Contoh:
(+)Ayla had finished her
homework before she come to myhouse
(-)Ayla had not finished
her homework before she come to myhouse
(?)Had ayla finished her
homework before she come to myhouse
Fungsi:
Untuk menunjukkan pekerjaan yang telah selesai ketika pekerjaan lain baru
dimulai pada masa lampau.
8. Past Perfect Continuous.
(+) S + had + been + Ving
(-) S+had+not+been+Ving
(?) had+S+been+Ving
Contoh:
(+)The teacher had been
waiting students for 10 minute in the class
(-)The teacher had not been
waiting students for 10 minute in the class
(?)Had the teacher been
waiting students for 10 minute in the class
Fungsi:
Untuk menunjukkan pekerjaan yang sudah terjadi pada masa lalu dan masih
berlangsung hingga waktu tertentu pada masa lampau.
9. Simple Future.
(+) S + will + Inf (V1)
(-) S + will+ not + Inf (V1)
(?) Will + S + Inf (V1)
Contoh:
(+)My Parent are going to the wedding party
tonight
(-)My
Parent aren’t going to the wedding party tonight
(?)Are
your parents going to the wedding party tonight?
Fungsinya:
– Menunjukkan pekerjaan sederhana yang akan terjadi
– Untuk membuat Conditional Sentence type I.
10. Future Continuous.
(+) S + will + be + Ving
(-) S+ will + not + be + Ving
(?) Will + S + be + Ving
Contoh:
(+)I will be selling my
smartphone this afternoon
(-)I will not be selling my
smaartphone this afternoon
(?) will you be selling
your smartphone this afternoon?
Fungsi:
– Untuk menunjukkan pekerjaan yang sedang terjadi pada masa yang akan datang.
11. Future Perfect.
(+) S + will + have + V3
(-) S + will + have + not + V3
(?) Will + S + have + V3
Contoh:
(+)He will have graduated
from gunadarma university by the end of

(-)He will have not

Fungsi:
– Untuk menunjukkan pekerjaan yang telah selesai di masa yang akan datang.
12. Future Perfect Continuous.

(-) S+will+have+not+been+Ving,

Contoh:
(+)Cikita will have been
teaching here for 6 months this year

Fungsi:
– Sama dengan Present Perfect Continuous, bedanya: kejadiannya tidak sekarang
tapi di masa depan.
13. Past Future.
(+): S + would + Infinitive/V1,
(-): S + would + not + Infinitive/V1
(?): Would + S + Infinitive/V1,
Contoh:
(+)I think he would prepare
all the things for my birthday
(-)I think he would not
prepare all the things for my birthday
(?)would you think he prepare all the things for your birthday?
Fungsi:
– Untuk menunjukkan pekerjaan yang akan dilakukan pada masa lampau.
– Untuk membuat kalimat Conditional Sentence Type II.
14. Past Future Continuous.
